BCIT Zero Energy/Emissions Building Learning Centre (ZEBLC) has released a new suite of courses and New Westminster is excited to share new details on our green building training support for 2022. Although some of the current course offerings are to be retired, BCIT’s updated suite still includes all the content in their previous offerings, updated and more, plus two new micro-credentials to help recognize knowledge and skills in the building industry.
Starting April 5th, a suite of shorter Zero Energy & Passive House courses will replace CESA 1505 (Zero Energy Buildings all-in-one) and CESA 1501 (Passive House Tradesperson) with new content, tools, and resources. This new suite of courses will also provide a path to earning one or two of the following new micro-credentials.
ESSENTIALS OF NET-ZERO AND PASSIVE HOUSE CONSTRUCTION
For builders, tradespersons, building officials, architects, home designers, engineers, project managers
4 courses, 6.0 credits, 72 learning hours, CPD points/ LU credits
Earn a BCIT micro-credential recognizing your expertise in Essentials Net-Zero and Passive House Construction upon completion of all four courses.

SUPERVISING NET-ZERO AND PASSIVE HOUSE CONSTRUCTION
For individuals needing skills, knowledge, and tools unique to supervising construction on Net-Zero and Passive House projects
5 courses, 8.5 credits, 102 learning hours, CPD points/ LU credits
Earn a BCIT micro-credential recognizing your expertise in Supervising Net-Zero and Passive House Construction upon completion of all five courses.

We will provide subsidies for all of the above BCIT ZEBLC courses to support industry training for local builders and designers and our subsidies will cover 50% of the cost up to $550 per course. This will be a limited number offer, and the subsidy will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis while funding lasts.What’s more, BCIT is currently offering free tuition ($1,100 value) on the last two courses (ZXEB 1171 and ZXEB 1173) for the Supervising Net Zero and Passive House Construction micro-credential for Fall 2022 term, also on a first-come-first-served basis.
